Searches arXiv for preprints and academic papers, retrieves abstracts
by langchain-aiFree
Description
arxiv-search is an agent skill from the langchain-ai deepagents project, listed on skills.sh. It searches arXiv for preprints and academic papers, retrieves their abstracts and filters them by topic. Its usage runs a bundled Python script with a search query and an optional maximum number of results, which defaults to ten. The example in the page searches for deep learning and drug discovery and asks for five papers, using the script in the agent's skills folder under a virtual environment. The skill is for requests to find research papers, search arXiv, or look up the literature on a subject. It returns the papers' abstracts so the agent or user can read and judge them, and it is a retrieval tool, so the summaries it gives depend on the abstracts it fetched. It suits researchers and students who want a fast list of recent preprints on a topic without browsing the arXiv site by hand. The listing shows a Warn result for the Snyk check, so that should be read before installing.…
