What is dotstore?
A store for web apps. It works like the app store on your phone, except the apps open in a browser tab.
What's a web app?
A program you use on a website, like Gmail, Figma or Notion. You open a link and it works, on any computer or phone.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Pick an app and it opens in your browser. Nothing gets installed.
Is dotstore free?
Yes. Browsing, saving apps and voting cost nothing. Each app sets its own price, and you'll see it on the app's page.
Do I need an account?
Only to save apps, vote or write reviews. You can browse and open apps without one.
Why not just use Google?
Search for a kind of app on Google and you get ads and blog posts. Here every result is an app, with its reviews, price and alternatives on one page.
Using dotstore

What's a launch?
A new app going live on dotstore. New ones go up every Monday, people vote all week, and the top three keep a badge. How launch week works
Can I find a cheaper app than the one I pay for?
Yes. Type in the app you use and you'll see others like it, including free, open source and self-hosted ones. Find an alternative
How are apps ranked?
Charts count how often people open an app. The launch board counts votes. Nobody can pay for a higher place on either, and every ad is marked Sponsored.
Does dotstore run the apps?
No. Each app runs on its maker's own site, and dotstore is where you find it. Your account and data for an app stay with that app.
Is everything a web app?
Mostly. The store also has extensions, mobile and desktop apps, and open source projects you can host yourself.
For makers
I made an app. How do I get it here?
There are two free ways. Fast-track puts it straight in the store after an editor checks it. Launchpad puts it on a launch board for a week of votes. List your app
My app is already here. Who added it?
Probably our editors, who added most of the store. Claim it from the app's page and you can edit the listing yourself.
How does dotstore make money?
Makers can pay once for Pro or Ultra, and sponsors book labeled ad spots by the week. Using the store stays free. See pricing
