bootstrap is an agent skill from ByteDance's DeerFlow project that writes a personalized SOUL.md file for your AI assistant. A SOUL.md defines the character, values and way of working of the AI partner you want. The skill runs a warm onboarding conversation of five to eight adaptive rounds, in which it asks about who you are and what you need, then turns the answers into a short, tight document built from a template. It is meant for people who are setting up a new assistant and want it to fit their working style rather than a generic persona. The skill has a SKILL.md with the core flow, a conversation guide that describes how to run each phase and an output template that the file is written against. It starts when you ask to create, set up or initialize your AI's soul or identity.
