Add and optimize schema markup and structured data for better SEO
by coreyhaines31Free
Description
schema is a marketing skill from the marketingskills library for adding, fixing and optimizing schema markup and structured data on a website, so that search engines understand the content and can show rich results. It recommends JSON-LD, the format Google prefers, placed in the page head or at the end of the body. It lists common schema types with the properties each needs: Organization and WebSite for site identity, Article for blog posts and news, Product and SoftwareApplication for product and app pages, FAQPage for question and answer content, HowTo for tutorials, BreadcrumbList for breadcrumb trails, LocalBusiness for local businesses, and Event for events and webinars. Its principles are accuracy first, meaning markup must describe content that is actually on the page and be kept up to date, following Google's guidelines, and validating before deploying and then watching Search Console. Before it implements anything, it asks what kind of page it is, what schema already exists and whether it has errors, which rich results already appear, and which ones the business wants. Broader SEO problems go to a separate SEO audit skill. It is free and MIT-licensed.…
