Description
nx-workspace-patterns is an agent skill from the wshobson/agents collection for configuring and optimizing Nx monorepo workspaces. Nx organizes a repository of many applications and libraries into a workspace and tracks how they depend on each other, so only the parts affected by a change are built and tested. The skill covers the Nx architecture and the core concepts behind that, starting with how projects, dependencies and tasks are represented. It covers setting up new Nx workspaces, configuring project boundaries so that one part of the codebase cannot import from another part it should not depend on, and managing the dependencies between projects. For faster continuous integration it covers affected commands, which run work only for the projects a change touches, and remote caching, which shares build results across machines so the same work is not repeated. It also covers migrating an existing repository to Nx. The skill is aimed at engineers who maintain a monorepo and want its build and CI times to scale with the size of the change rather than the size of the repository. It is installed with the skills CLI from the wshobson/agents repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 10.5K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.…

What are affected commands?
Commands that run only for the projects a change touches, which speeds up CI.
Can it share cache between machines?
Yes. The skill covers remote caching of build results.
Can it enforce boundaries between projects?
Yes. Configuring project boundaries is one of the things the skill covers.
How do I install it?
Run npx skills add https://github.com/wshobson/agents --skill nx-workspace-patterns.
What security audits does it have?
skills.sh lists three audits: Gen Agent Trust Hub Pass, Socket Pass and Snyk Pass.
