Description
schema-exploration is an agent skill from the langchain-ai deepagents project, listed on skills.sh. It maps a database before it is queried. It lists the tables, describes the columns and their data types, identifies the foreign key relationships, and maps how the entities relate. The workflow has two steps. First it lists all the tables with the sql_db_list_tables tool. Then, for the tables that matter, it uses sql_db_schema to examine the column names, the data types such as integer, text and datetime, three sample rows so the agent can see what the content looks like, the primary keys, and the foreign keys that link to other tables. The skill is for analysts and developers who are new to a database and need to understand its structure, or who need to check it before writing a query.
