dotstore collects as little as it needs to run your account and store. Here's what that is and what you control.
1. What we collect
When you create an account:
- your email address and, optionally, your name;
- a securely hashed password if you sign up with email — never the password itself;
- if you use Google or GitHub, your name, email and profile picture from that provider. We never see your password there.
When you use the site:
- apps you save to your store and launches you upvote;
- apps you open from your store, so we can sort it by what you use most;
- apps and launches you submit, including a launch you've started but not sent yet while you're signed in, so you can pick it up on another device.
2. How we use it
- to run your account and keep your store in sync;
- to count votes and rank apps fairly, and to prevent abuse;
- to send important account emails — security alerts, password resets, submission updates and changes to our terms;
- to understand, in aggregate, which parts of dotstore are useful.
3. What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't send marketing email unless you separately opt in.
- We don't share your store or activity with the apps you open — clicking through to an app just opens its website.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and protect forms from forgery. Your theme preference is stored in your browser. We don't use advertising cookies.
5. Who we share with
Only service providers that help us run dotstore, such as:
- hosting and infrastructure;
- an email delivery provider, for account emails;
- Google or GitHub, if you choose to sign in with them.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our users and service.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. When you delete it, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal reasons. Public launch listings may remain, without your personal details.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights — including under the GDPR or CCPA — such as objecting to processing or complaining to a regulator. We respond to requests within 30 days.
8. Children
dotstore isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way, we'll email account holders and update the date above before the change takes effect.
