argent-metro-debugger

Debug a JS runtime via CDP using argent debugger tools

argent-metro-debugger is an agent skill for debugging a JavaScript runtime through the Chrome DevTools Protocol, using the argent debugger tools. Its main path is React Native through the Metro dev server, on iOS, Android and Vega. Prerequisites differ by platform. For React Native, Metro must be running, usually on localhost port 8081, and the app must be connected to it. The debugger-status tool reports connected or not connected with a reason, and it does not fail when the debugger cannot be reached. For Vega, the app must be a debug build, since a release build never attaches, and Metro must be reachable from the device through port forwarding. Some tools, such as the component tree, inspect-element, Metro reload and the profiler tools, are not available on Vega. For Chromium, the debugger needs a Chromium or Electron app that exposes a CDP port, either booted from an Electron app path or discovered on the usual port. On Chromium only a subset of the debugger tools work, including connect, status, evaluate, the log registry and network log tools. On Android, the skill asks for a reverse port so the device can reach Metro on the host. Physical iPhones are not supported, because the debugger tools reject physical devices. The skill is installed with npx skills add https://github.com/software-mansion/argent --skill argent-metro-debugger.
