About aspnet-minimal-api-openapi

aspnet-minimal-api-openapi
ASP.NET Minimal API endpoints
aspnet-minimal-api-openapi is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection for creating ASP.NET Minimal API endpoints with correct types and complete OpenAPI and Swagger documentation. It covers how to organize endpoints: grouping related ones with MapGroup, applying endpoint filters to handle cross-cutting concerns, splitting larger APIs into separate endpoint classes, and using a feature-based folder structure as the API grows. For request and response types, it recommends explicit DTOs with validation attributes such as Required, using record types for immutable data, and property names that follow the API's design standards. Errors should come back in a standard form, and the skill points to ProblemDetailsService and StatusCodePages for that. It also covers typed results so the documented responses match what the endpoint returns. The result is an API whose documentation is generated from the code, so the documentation stays accurate as the endpoints change. The skill applies when building a new minimal API, adding endpoints to an existing one, or documenting an API for other teams. Generated documentation is only as good as the types behind it, so the team should check the published OpenAPI output against the real behavior. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 9.2K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
