About azure-app-onboard-prereq

azure-app-onboard-prereq
Assess whether source code is ready to deploy to Azure
azure-app-onboard-prereq is an agent skill from Microsoft's azure-skills collection, listed on skills.sh. It assesses whether a repository's source code is ready to deploy to Azure, before any infrastructure work starts. It checks build health, app completeness, dependencies and local setup, and it gives each component a verdict of PASS, WARN or FAIL. Those verdicts feed the later phases. The skill is the first of four phases in the azure-app-onboard pipeline, which it can run under when the orchestrator calls it at step three, or it can run alone for a code readiness check. Its results are written as artifacts in a session folder, and it reads the session's context file and writes its findings for the next phase, without starting the downstream phases itself. The skill says when not to use it: to validate Bicep, Terraform or azure.yaml files, the azure-validate skill applies; to generate infrastructure as code, azure-prepare applies; for an idea-to-production run, azure-app-onboard applies; and to run azd up or deploy, azure-deploy applies. It suits developers checking an existing codebase before moving it to Azure.
