azure-compute

Recommend Azure VM sizes, scale sets

azure-compute is an agent skill from Microsoft's azure-skills collection that routes requests about Azure virtual machines (VMs) and Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS). It helps an agent recommend, compare, price, create, provision or deploy a VM or a scale set. Given a workload's type, its performance needs, its scaling requirements and its budget, it suggests two or three VM or VMSS options and explains the trade-offs between them. It checks those recommendations against live Microsoft documentation and falls back to other sources if that check is not possible. The skill also covers Capacity Reservation Groups, which reserve capacity so it is available when needed, and Essential Machine Management, which handles machine enrollment and monitoring. It routes by workflow: it first works out what the user wants and opens the matching workflow before loading any reference material. The skill is for bare VM and VMSS infrastructure. Requests to deploy an application, such as a Docker service, web app, API or serverless workload, go to the azure-prepare skill instead. It is listed on skills.sh.
