About azure-observability

azure-observability
Query metrics, logs, and traces across Azure Monitor, Application Insights
Azure observability is an agent skill for querying metrics, logs and traces across Microsoft's Azure monitoring services. It covers Azure Monitor for metrics, alerts, dashboards and notifications, Application Insights for application performance monitoring and distributed tracing, Log Analytics for custom Kusto Query Language queries, and Workbooks for interactive reports. For each service, the skill lists the matching Azure MCP tool and the Azure CLI command group, so an agent can choose the route that is available. When the Azure MCP server is enabled, it is the preferred route. In that case the Monitor tool runs commands such as monitor_metrics_query to query metrics and monitor_logs_query to run KQL log queries. Without MCP, the same tasks go through commands in the az monitor family, including az monitor app-insights for Application Insights and az monitor log-analytics for Log Analytics. Alerts are managed with az monitor alert. The skill is intended for engineers who need to investigate an Azure workload, such as checking a performance regression, finding error logs or following a request through distributed traces. It is listed on skills.sh under the Microsoft azure-skills repository, and its security audits show Gen Agent Trust Hub: Pass, Socket: Pass and Snyk: Pass.
