azure-upgrade

Assess and automate upgrades of Azure workloads across plans, tiers, and SKUs

azure-upgrade is an agent skill from Microsoft's azure-skills collection that assesses and automates upgrades of existing Azure workloads from one service, hosting plan or SKU to another, all within Azure. It covers plan and tier upgrades, such as moving Azure Functions from Consumption to Flex Consumption, cross-service migrations, such as App Service to Container Apps, and SKU changes. For Azure Cache for Redis it covers migrating the older ACR and OSS caches, and the Enterprise tier, to Azure Managed Redis (AMR), including choosing an AMR SKU and updating infrastructure-as-code templates. It also covers modernizing legacy Azure SDK code, for example moving Java projects from the com.microsoft.azure packages to com.azure. The skill says it sequences its assessment before any change is made, so the agent checks readiness first. Cross-cloud migration is a separate skill. Its trigger phrases include asking which Consumption function apps can move to Flex Consumption, checking whether a function app is ready, and asking to migrate a Redis cache to AMR. The skill is listed on skills.sh, with its security audit results shown there.
