About backend-patterns

backend-patterns
Backend architecture patterns, API design, database optimization
backend-patterns is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It teaches a coding agent the usual shape of server-side code: repository, service and controller layers, RESTful or GraphQL endpoint design, and error handling and validation for APIs. It also covers database query work such as avoiding N+1 queries, adding indexes and pooling connections, plus caching with Redis, in-memory stores or HTTP cache headers. Background jobs, async processing and middleware for auth, logging and rate limiting are in scope. The examples target Node.js, Express and Next.js API routes. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads only when a task calls for it, so the agent follows the same steps each time. It is free and open source.
