About break-ui

break-ui

Try to break a piece of UI by feeding it worst-case data

break-ui is an agent skill that tries to break a piece of UI by feeding it worst-case data. It takes a component that looks right with demo data, finds the realistic worst case for every value it renders, puts both datasets behind a toggle, and reports what breaks. The demo data is the usual cause of trouble: names that fit on one line, counts that never need a separator, and every optional field filled in. The skill replaces those with realistic extremes, such as very long names, email addresses that cannot wrap, one-letter names, missing fields, very large counts, zero items, and long unbroken strings. It is an adversarial skill that does one thing only. It does not redesign the component, critique its visual taste, or review its motion, which are the jobs of other skills in the same collection. Use it before shipping a list, card, table or profile view, to find layout and content failures that a tidy demo hides. It is part of the emilkowalski/skills repository on GitHub, which has about 46,200 stars. The listing shows it as free, and it has about 38,200 installs. Its security audits show passes from Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk.
