About breakdown-plan

breakdown-plan
Comprehensive project planning
breakdown-plan is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection, a prompt for building a complete project plan in GitHub from a set of feature artifacts, which typically include a PRD, a UX design, a technical breakdown and a testing plan. The agent acts as a senior project manager and DevOps specialist. It organizes work into a hierarchy: an epic is a large business capability that spans several features and maps to a milestone, a feature is user-facing functionality inside an epic, a story is a requirement that delivers value on its own, an enabler is technical work that supports stories, a test validates stories and enablers, and a task is an implementation-level step. Stories are written to the INVEST criteria, meaning independent, negotiable, valuable, estimable, small and testable. The plan records dependencies between items, assigns priorities, and sets up Kanban-style tracking, and the prompt describes creating the issues automatically in GitHub. The skill suits teams that keep their planning in GitHub Projects and want the breakdown of a feature turned into issues without manual entry. Automatically created issues change the project's tracker, so the plan should be reviewed before the issues are created, and the team should confirm the priorities with the product owner. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 9.3K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
