About cmux-settings

C

cmux-settings

View and edit cmux settings in ~/.config/cmux/cmux.json, including terminal

Cmux-settings lets you view and edit cmux settings in the configuration file at ~/.config/cmux/cmux.json. The file uses JSONC, so comments are allowed, and cmux watches it, so changes apply as soon as you save, without a restart. The settings cover the terminal, browser, Markdown, diff viewer, notes, HTML, file preview and sidebar behavior, along with notifications, appearance and automation. The skill uses a helper script to read and write the file, and it works from a schema-generated list of every key. The schema is published in the cmux repository, so the helper can check the names you use. An older settings.json file in the same folder is read only as a fallback for keys that cmux.json does not set. Non-settings sections such as actions, commands, the vault and the right sidebar share the same file. For changes to one particular viewer, the skill points to a dedicated reference that maps each viewer to its options. Because the file is watched, your edits take effect in the open app.
