config-gc is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It runs garbage collection on a Claude Code setup. It periodically scans the Claude configuration folder, covering skills, memory, hooks, permissions, MCP servers and caches, for items that are redundant, expired, unreferenced or low value, and suggests what to reclaim. The defining rule is that removal needs a person in the loop, so the skill never deletes anything on its own. It is meant for a user who wants to slim down their setup, complains of too many skills, noisy hooks or slow session start, has a periodic review due, or has just installed a large skill pack and needs its overlaps reconciled with what is already there. It does not cover cleaning project source code, clearing chat history or uninstalling Claude Code. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source.
