About context7-mcp

context7-mcp
About libraries, frameworks, API references, or needs code examples
context7-mcp is an agent skill from Upstash's Context7 project that makes an assistant fetch current documentation for libraries, frameworks and APIs instead of relying on what it learned in training. It activates when a user asks a setup or configuration question, requests code that uses a library, asks for an API reference, or mentions a framework such as React, Vue, Svelte, Express or Tailwind. The fetching works in steps. The first step resolves the library ID, calling resolve-library-id with the library name pulled from the question and a query describing what to look up, since the query improves the ranking of results. The skill then fetches the documentation for that library. It is aimed at developers who ask an assistant about a fast-changing library, where an out-of-date answer can cost time. Because the documentation comes from a service, the assistant should still check the code it writes against the library's own documentation for anything critical. The skill passes Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk on skills.sh, and it has about 5,700 installs. Install it with npx skills add https://github.com/upstash/context7 --skill context7-mcp.
