control-cli

Build or adapt a local harness to drive, inspect

control-cli is an agent skill from Cursor's plugins collection for building or adapting a local harness that drives, inspects and profiles an interactive command-line or terminal user interface, without any external services. Instead of poking at a CLI by hand, the agent runs a repeatable harness that sends deterministic input. It first reuses the repository's own test or demo harness if one exists, and otherwise assembles a temporary harness from standard local tools. The skill is used for reproducing CLI and terminal user interface bugs with fixed input, checking keyboard flows, prompts, interrupts, window resizing and terminal layout, capturing before-and-after transcripts for a bug fix, profiling startup time, slow operations, hangs or memory growth, and recording a short terminal demo when showing the output is easier than describing it. The skill describes a harness loop that the agent runs until the behaviour is confirmed. It suits developers of developer tools and terminal applications who need evidence of how their program behaves on a real terminal. It is listed on skills.sh, where the page shows install counts and GitHub stars for the Cursor plugins repository, and its security audits all pass. Install it with npx skills add https://github.com/cursor/plugins --skill control-cli.
