About convex-domains

convex-domains

Point a domain you already own at your Convex app

convex-domains is an agent skill that points a domain you already own at a Convex app. It walks you through your own registrar: it identifies the target, which is either the published site host for static hosting or the deployment's HTTP actions URL, creates the DNS records, attaches the custom domain to the app, and rebinds the authentication origin if the app uses sign-in. The skill first checks whether an authenticated DNS command-line tool is available for your provider, such as flarectl for Cloudflare, aws route53 for Route 53, gcloud for Google Cloud DNS, doctl for DigitalOcean or vercel dns for Vercel. If one is, it offers to create the records with it, checks the account read-only first, shows the exact commands and waits for a yes before running them. If no authenticated tool is available, or you decline, it lists the records to create at your own registrar. The skill is part of the get-convex agent-skills repository and is added to a compatible agent with the skills command. Its audits passed with Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk. It suits developers who want their Convex app on a domain they control, and who would rather not hand-edit DNS records.
