copilot-spaces

Use Copilot Spaces to provide project-specific context to conversations

copilot-spaces is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection for using GitHub Copilot Spaces to give conversations project-specific context. A Space is a shared collection of repositories, files, documentation and instructions that grounds Copilot's responses in a team's actual code and knowledge. The skill tells the agent how to work with Spaces. It lists the read-only MCP tools, which can list the Spaces a user can access and load a Space's full context by owner and name. For changes, the skill uses the Spaces REST API through the gh command, which supports creating, updating and deleting spaces and managing collaborators, since the MCP server exposes only read operations. The skill applies when a user mentions a Copilot space or wants to load context from one into a conversation. It is useful for teams that have curated context for a project and want every conversation to start from it. Because the write operations can delete spaces and change who can see them, the agent should confirm any change to sharing or deletion with the user first. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 4.4K installs and passing results from Gen Agent Trust Hub and Socket, with Snyk showing a warning at the time of the scan.
