Description
copilotkit-channels is an agent skill from the CopilotKit project's skills collection, listed on skills.sh. It covers the code side of a managed Intelligence Channel, which lets an agent answer in Slack or Microsoft Teams. In a managed channel, Intelligence owns the provider edge, including signed ingress, egress and credential storage, and delivers each turn to the user's runtime over a realtime transport. The skill covers CopilotIntelligenceRuntime, app-api Channel resources and the realtime gateway. It deliberately excludes the self-hosted @copilotkit/channels adapter packages for Slack, Teams, Discord, Telegram and WhatsApp, which hold provider credentials in the user's own process. Because both products use the words channels and Slack, the skill tells the agent to confirm which one the user means. The first decision is whether the project was scaffolded by npx copilotkit init, in which case the channel host already exists and should be customised, or whether it predates the Channel, in which case a separate wiring section applies. Creating a second channel declaration would make two declarations fight over one Channel, so the skill warns against it.…
Highlights

copilotkit-channels FAQ
What does the copilotkit-channels skill cover?
Customising a managed Intelligence Channel that lets an agent answer in Slack or Microsoft Teams.
How do I install it?
Run: npx skills add https://github.com/copilotkit/copilotkit --skill copilotkit-channels
Is it for the self-hosted adapter packages?
No. It excludes the @copilotkit/channels adapter packages, which hold provider credentials in your own process. Use those packages for that setup.
How do I know which path I am on?
Look for channel-host.mts at the project root. If it is there, the project was scaffolded by the CLI and the code half is already done.
Has it been checked for security?
skills.sh lists three audits: Gen Agent Trust Hub Pass, Socket Pass and Snyk Warn. A Warn or Fail is worth reading before you install.
