About copilotkit-develop

copilotkit-develop
Building AI-powered features
copilotkit-develop is an agent skill from the CopilotKit project's skills collection, listed on skills.sh. It guides the development of AI-powered features with CopilotKit v2, such as adding chat interfaces, registering frontend tools and sharing application context with agents. It describes the v2 architecture in three layers. The runtime, @copilotkit/runtime, runs on the server, hosts agents, and handles SSE and Intelligence transport, middleware and transcription. The core, @copilotkit/core, holds shared state management, the tool registry and the suggestion engine, and apps do not import it directly. The React layer, @copilotkit/react-core, provides the provider, chat components and hooks, and re-exports the AG-UI client so an app needs only one import. CopilotKit v2 is built on the AG-UI protocol, through the @ag-ui/client and @ag-ui/core packages. The skill includes the same copilotkit-docs MCP server as the other CopilotKit skills, for searching live documentation and source code. It is for developers adding an AI assistant or agent-driven features to a React application.
