create-verification-skill

Generate a project-local verification skill

create-verification-skill is an agent skill from Cursor's plugins collection that generates a project-local verification skill: a scripted way to drive the real application the way a user would, launch it, exercise a feature and capture evidence. The generated skill is written into the project's skills folder for a specific app, and it is meant to be read cold by a later agent that has never seen the app. The generator works from the repository rather than from questions to the user. It first identifies the surface a user actually touches, such as a web interface, a command-line or terminal interface, a desktop app, an API, a mobile app or a library, and picks the primary one. It then works out how the app starts locally, preferring the project's own documented development command, along with ports, environment variables, seed data and authentication. Next it looks at how an agent can drive the app programmatically, reusing any existing harness where possible. Only what cannot be observed from the code is asked of the user. The result is a verification routine that proves behaviour instead of assuming it. The skill suits teams that want their coding agents to test a feature end to end before reporting it as done. It is listed on skills.sh, where the page shows install counts and GitHub stars for the Cursor plugins repository, and its security audits all pass. Install it with npx skills add https://github.com/cursor/plugins --skill create-verification-skill.
