About deanpeters/user-story-mapping

deanpeters/user-story-mapping
Organize stories by user workflow using Jeff Patton's story mapping approach
user-story-mapping is a skill that builds a user story map using Jeff Patton's approach. It lays out the user's journey as a hierarchical map: high-level activities break down into steps and tasks, arranged left to right as a narrative flow, and the map is then cut into release slices. The purpose is to build shared understanding across product, design and engineering, to prioritize features by user workflow, and to find gaps or opportunities in the experience before they turn into production surprises. Use it to plan a workflow, backlog or MVP around the user journey, to slice a flat backlog into releases that each deliver something usable, and to see the actual shape of a user's workflow when the backlog has none. Example requests include a flat backlog with no sense of the user's workflow, and a set of features that needs slicing into usable releases. You pass the product or workflow as the argument. The estimated time is 30 to 60 minutes, and the skill belongs to the PM artifacts theme of the product-manager-skills repository on GitHub.
