About devops-rollout-plan

D

devops-rollout-plan

Comprehensive rollout plan generator

devops-rollout-plan is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that generates a production-ready rollout plan for an infrastructure or application change. The agent first gathers the details it needs: what is changing, the version or state it moves from and to, the problem it solves or the feature it adds, the target environment, the infrastructure type such as Kubernetes, virtual machines, serverless or containers, the affected services and their dependencies, and the current capacity and scale. With those in hand it writes a plan with an executive summary, the prerequisites, a preflight validation section, step-by-step deployment phases, verification signals that show whether each phase is healthy, rollback procedures for each phase, communication steps for the people affected, and the tasks to complete after the deployment. The point of the plan is to make a change predictable: each phase has a way to check it and a way to undo it. It is useful for teams that run changes through a change-management process or want a consistent written plan before any production deployment. A plan is a proposal, so the people who own the services should check the dependencies, capacity figures and rollback steps against the real system, since a rollback that has never been tested may not work. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 9.7K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
