About emilkowalski-motion

emilkowalski-motion
Motion-design follow-up skill inspired by Emil Kowalski's animation guidance
emilkowalski-motion is an agent skill from the OpenDesign project that adds tasteful motion to an interface after it already exists. It is inspired by Emil Kowalski's animation guidance and is meant as a follow-up step, to make an interface feel alive without turning it into a motion demo. The workflow starts by inspecting the current HTML, component or selected page element before any animation is added. The agent then picks the smallest set of motion moments that clarify state or hierarchy. Those can be an entry reveal for the main content, hover and active feedback on important controls, transitions between interface states, and scroll reveals only where they help the story. The skill prefers animating transform and opacity, and it says to avoid animating layout properties such as top, left, width and height. It asks for one motion language across the artifact, without mixing unrelated easings, durations or physics. Any automatic or scroll-linked motion needs a prefers-reduced-motion fallback. Copy, data and layout intent must stay intact unless the user asks for a redesign. The skill is listed on skills.sh, with its security audit results shown there.
