evm-token-decimals

Prevent silent decimal mismatch bugs across EVM chains

evm-token-decimals is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It prevents a specific class of bug in code that handles EVM tokens: silent decimal mismatches that produce balances or dollar values wrong by orders of magnitude without raising an error. The guidance is to never assume a token uses the same decimals on every chain, so the agent should read decimals() at runtime, cache results by chain ID and token address, and use decimal-safe arithmetic for value calculations. It also covers bridged assets, where precision can drift between chains, and it includes examples. The skill applies when reading ERC-20 balances in Python, TypeScript or Solidity, converting on-chain balances to fiat, comparing amounts across chains, or building portfolio trackers, bots or aggregators. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.
