About frontend-design

F

frontend-design

Create distinctive, production-grade frontend interfaces

frontend-design is an agent skill in the OpenDesign project, adapted from Anthropic's official frontend-design skill, for creating distinctive, production-grade frontend interfaces. It applies when a user asks to build or improve a frontend: a website, landing page, dashboard, application screen, HTML or CSS artifact, a React, Vue or Svelte component, or a visual redesign of an existing interface. The goal is not just to make something nicer, but to ship working frontend code with a clear design point of view, strong craft, and enough product detail to feel designed for the user's context. The workflow starts with the brief before any look is chosen. The agent identifies the audience, the primary job, the domain and the emotional tone, and notes technical constraints such as the framework, existing styles, accessibility, performance, export target or responsive needs. If the repository already has design tokens, components, screenshots or a DESIGN.md file, those are treated as the source of truth.
