About gke-upgrades

G

gke-upgrades

Plans, executes, and validates Google Kubernetes Engine

GKE upgrades is an agent skill for planning, executing and validating upgrades and maintenance on Google Kubernetes Engine, for both Standard and Autopilot clusters. It produces clear, actionable documents such as upgrade plans, runbooks and checklists, tailored to your cluster mode, release channel, versions and workload types. Its preferred control is auto-upgrade with maintenance windows and exclusions, and it frames its guidance that way. Before it writes anything, it gathers context: whether the cluster is Standard or Autopilot, since Autopilot has no node pool management, requires resource requests and gives no SSH access; the current and target versions, because node versions may differ from the control plane by no more than two minor versions; the release channel, which is Rapid, Regular, Stable or Extended; the environment topology, including whether rollout sequencing is used across dev, staging and production; and how sensitive the workloads are, such as stateful sets, databases, GPU work or long batch jobs. If you give these details up front, it goes straight to the deliverable, and if they are vague, it fills in defaults and states its assumptions. It is published by Google on skills.sh under the google skills repository, with about 6.4K installs. The skills.sh listing shows Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk all passing.
