golang-testing

Production-ready Golang tests

golang-testing is an agent skill from the samber cc-skills-golang collection for writing and reviewing production-ready Go tests. Its guiding idea is that tests are executable specifications that constrain behaviour, not tools for hitting a coverage number. The skill covers table-driven tests, testify suites and mocks, parallel tests, fuzzing, fixtures, goroutine leak detection with goleak, and snapshot testing. It has four modes. Write mode scaffolds table-driven tests with gotests and then adds edge cases and error paths. Review mode checks a pull request's test changes for coverage of new behaviour, assertion quality and flakiness. Audit mode looks for gaps, flakiness and bad patterns such as order-dependent tests, missing t.Parallel calls and tests coupled to implementation details, and it can run three sub-agents for unit tests, integration isolation and goroutine or race problems. Debug mode reproduces a failing or flaky test and traces the root cause. The skill needs the gotests tool, installed with go install github.com/cweill/gotests/gotests@latest. It is listed on skills.sh, where the page shows install counts, GitHub stars and security audit results. Install it with npx skills add https://github.com/samber/cc-skills-golang --skill golang-testing.
