cloud-sql-basics is an agent skill for creating and explaining Cloud SQL resources. Cloud SQL is Google Cloud's fully managed relational database service for MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server, and it handles patches, updates, backups, replicas, high availability and secure connectivity. The skill is for creating a Cloud SQL instance or database for any of the three engines. Its PostgreSQL quick start enables the API, creates an instance, sets a password for the default postgres user, creates a database, retrieves the instance connection name in the PROJECT_ID:REGION:INSTANCE_NAME format, starts the Cloud SQL Auth Proxy in a separate terminal, and connects with psql. Creating and managing instances needs the Cloud SQL Admin role. Its reference directory covers editions such as Enterprise and Enterprise Plus, instance architecture, read pools and high availability. It is part of the google/skills repository on GitHub.
