About gws-shared

gws-shared
Shared authentication, CLI syntax
gws-shared is the shared reference skill for the Google Workspace CLI, listed on skills.sh. It is the base that the other gws skills depend on, and it sets out the patterns they all use: how the gws binary is installed, how it authenticates, the global flags, and how output is formatted. The gws binary must be on the system PATH, and the project's README covers the install options. Authentication has two routes. An interactive browser-based OAuth login is started with gws auth login. A service account can be used instead by pointing the GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS environment variable at a key file. Global flags select the output format, which can be JSON, table, YAML or CSV, and enable dry-run validation, which checks a command without carrying it out. The skill is not usually run on its own. Other gws skills tell the agent to read it first for authentication and security rules, and to run gws generate-skills to recreate it if it is missing. It suits anyone starting with the Google Workspace CLI who needs to get signed in and understand the common flags.
