About hookify-rules

hookify-rules
Create and configure hookify rules
hookify-rules is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It explains how to write and configure hookify rules for Claude Code. A hookify rule is a markdown file with YAML frontmatter that describes a pattern to watch for on bash, file, prompt or stop events, matched by regular expression or conditions, and a message to show when the pattern matches. Rules are saved as project-local files named .claude/hookify.{rule-name}.local.md. ECC evaluates these rules with its own built-in Node runtime, so no separate Hookify plugin or Python installation is needed when ECC hooks are enabled. The skill covers the basic structure of a rule and the file format. It applies when a user wants a project to warn about or catch specific actions during a session, such as dangerous commands or risky edits. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.
