About hotkey

H

hotkey

Keyboard shortcuts, registration, key combinations, scope

hotkey is an agent skill from the LobeHub repository with a step-by-step guide for adding a keyboard shortcut to the app. It covers keyboard shortcuts, their registration, key combinations, scope, conflicts and the tooltips that show a shortcut to the user. The steps are short. First, add the new shortcut's id to the HotkeyId union in packages/types/src/hotkey.ts, which is the source of truth that HotkeyEnum is typed against. Second, register the default key combination in packages/const/src/hotkeys.ts by adding an entry to HotkeyEnum and to HOTKEYS_REGISTRATION. The guide notes that KeyEnum and combineKeys are already defined in that file, so no extra import is needed. The skill is for contributors who add a feature that needs a shortcut, or who need to check whether a key combination is already taken before they choose one. It is a convention guide for this one codebase rather than a general introduction to keyboard handling. The skill passes Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk on skills.sh. Install it with npx skills add https://github.com/lobehub/lobehub --skill hotkey.
