Instead it reads the DOM and the styles applied to each element and draws the result onto a canvas, so the output is built from the page's information rather than a true capture. The project says that this means the image may not match the real rendering in every detail. Because the image is built on the client, no rendering happens on the server, but the library depends heavily on the browser, and the README notes that browser compatibility is limited.
