i18n FAQ

What is the default language?

English (en-US). The app uses react-i18next for its translations.

Where do I add new text?

In the files under packages/locales/src/default/. Generated locale JSON files should not be hand-written, apart from the en-US and zh-CN previews.

Do I have to run the translation script?

Not usually. The daily auto-i18n workflow generates the locales. Run bun run i18n only when you need them right away.

What key format is used?

Flat keys with dot notation, not nested objects.

How do I install it?

Run npx skills add https://github.com/lobehub/lobehub --skill i18n.

Which security audits does it have?

On skills.sh, Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk all pass.

What are the best i18n alternatives?

Popular alternatives to i18n include vscode-ext-localization, add-provider-doc and add-setting-env. See all i18n alternatives
