About Lapce
Lapce
Lightning-fast and Powerful Code Editor written in Rust
Lapce is an open-source code editor written in Rust. It uses a native GUI with GPU acceleration, built on the Floem toolkit that the Lapdev team wrote for Rust, so the editor starts quickly and aims to respond to every keystroke without lag. It highlights code with Tree-sitter, which the site says is faster and more accurate than regex-based highlighting, and it has built-in LSP support for completion, diagnostics and code actions. Vim users get a built-in modal editing mode without installing a plugin. Plugins are written in any language that compiles to WASI, so you are not limited to one plugin language. A built-in terminal opens at the path of your workspace. Lapce also supports remote development, where you connect to another machine and work with a local-feeling environment that matches a server. Downloads are offered as tar.gz archives for x86 and ARM Linux, a system installer and a portable build for Windows x86, and a universal .dmg for macOS. The current version listed is 0.4.2. Lapdev is a separate Kubernetes development-environment platform from the same team, and its pricing page says it is free during its public beta.
