linkerd-patterns

Implement Linkerd service mesh patterns for lightweight

linkerd-patterns is an agent skill from the wshobson/agents collection for implementing Linkerd, a lightweight, security-focused service mesh for Kubernetes. A service mesh handles the networking between services so each application does not have to, and Linkerd is presented as the simpler, security-first option. The skill gives production patterns for setting up Linkerd in a cluster, implementing automatic mutual TLS so traffic between services is encrypted and authenticated without application changes, and configuring traffic splits for canary deployments. It covers service profiles, which add per-route metrics such as success rates and latency for each endpoint, and implementing retries and timeouts so calls to a slow or failing service are handled predictably. It also covers multi-cluster meshes, where services in several clusters can talk to each other. The skill is written for platform engineers who want the security and observability of a mesh without a heavy setup. It is a guide for an agent to work from when configuring a mesh, and the configuration should be checked in a test cluster before it handles production traffic. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the wshobson/agents repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 10.0K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
