About lint-and-validate

lint-and-validate
Run configured lint and type checks, distinguish failures from checks
lint-and-validate is an agent skill that runs the lint and type checks a repository has configured, separates real failures from checks that did not run, and reports concrete validation results. Use it after behaviour or configuration changes, when the repository has relevant lint or type checks. It reads the repository's instructions and package scripts before running anything, because a script named lint can modify files. It prefers the read-only checks the project declares, such as npm run lint and npm run typecheck for Node projects, and for Python it uses the tools already installed, such as ruff and mypy. It does not fetch a checker that is missing, and it does not add an automatic fix flag without inspecting the proposed changes and the task's authorisation. It fixes failures without deleting work, weakening rules or raising timeouts just to pass. If a required tool is unavailable, it reports the exact check that did not run. It also reminds you that passing lint does not prove there are no runtime or security defects. It is part of the sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills repository on GitHub, which has about 47,600 stars.
