About Lyrion Music Server
Lyrion Music Server
Server software which controls a wide range of Squeezebox/Slim Devices audio
Lyrion Music Server, formerly Logitech Media Server, is server software that controls Squeezebox and other Slim Devices audio players and compatible hardware. It manages a music library and streams it to players in the house, and it is the central part of the Lyrion Music Server ecosystem, which also includes players and controllers and a set of extensions. The documentation covers downloading and installing it, with guides for a Raspberry Pi, Docker on Synology, QNAP and OpenMediaVault, and macOS. It also has guides on creating a media library, getting the most out of metadata, and handling classical music. Players are listed in a hardware comparison, from Squeezebox Touch, Radio and Boom to software players such as Squeezelite, Jivelite and piCorePlayer. Extensions are split into applications and plugins, and a reference section documents the command-line interface, the database structure and the protocols the players use. The project is licensed under GPL-2.0 and is distributed as Debian packages, Docker images and source code. The site also has a contributing section for bug reports, translations and the community forums.
