About m5-onboard

m5-onboard
End-to-end onboarding for a freshly-plugged-in M5Stack ESP32 device
m5-onboard is an agent skill from Anthropic's official plugins collection, listed on skills.sh. It runs the full cold-start setup for a freshly plugged-in M5Stack ESP32 device, which covers the Cardputer, Cardputer-Adv, Core, CoreS3 and Stick models. It detects the device on USB, identifies the model, flashes UIFlow 2.0 firmware, and pushes a MicroPython app bundle onto the device's flash memory so that it boots into the user's software. The apps it ships are Claude Buddy, Snake and Hello, which talk over Bluetooth Low Energy or USB. The workflow runs on macOS, Linux and Windows, and the Cardputer-Adv, which uses an ESP32-S3 with native USB, is the current default target. The skill works from a local clone of the build-with-claude repository, where the onboarding scripts live. Its decision tree sends a fresh device through the full onboarding script, sends an already-flashed device to an app-install script, and sends a device that seems broken to a smoke test covering the I2C bus, LCD, speaker and button. If several devices are plugged in, the agent asks which port to use rather than guessing.
