It covers arrays, tabular and time data, tests, projects, graphics and MAT files. MATLAB and GNU Octave are distinct products, and the skill is clear that compatibility between them is partial, not a guarantee of licence or behaviour. The review was checked against the current MathWorks R2026b documentation and GNU Octave 11.3.0 sources on 1 October 2026. The bundled Engine planner and MATLAB examples keep an explicit R2026a baseline. R2026b supports CPython 3.10 to 3.14, and the skill warns not to reuse the R2026a Engine package with it. The MATLAB and Octave examples are illustrative and were not run in the review, while the Python helpers have local synthetic tests. The skill uses local runtime interfaces, with no remote service and no API key. It has a product and licence gate, which it applies before advising on a setup. MATLAB is a commercial product, so check your licence before you use it.
