mcp-builder is an agent skill from Composio's Awesome Claude Skills collection on GitHub. It is a guide to building good MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that let AI models use outside services through well-designed tools, in Python with FastMCP or in TypeScript with the MCP SDK. It walks from research and planning through implementation, review and evaluation. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions (sometimes with scripts and reference notes) that an AI agent loads only when a task calls for it, so the agent knows the steps to follow and what to avoid. It is free and open source.
