About microsoft-agent-framework

microsoft-agent-framework
Create, update, refactor, explain
microsoft-agent-framework is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection for creating, updating, refactoring, explaining and reviewing applications built on Microsoft Agent Framework. The framework is the unified successor to Semantic Kernel and AutoGen, combining their strengths with new capabilities. The skill chooses a language workflow first: the .NET reference is used when the repository contains C# or .NET project files, and the Python reference when it contains Python files or the user asks for Python, and when both are present it matches the language of the files being edited. Because the framework is in public preview and changes quickly, the skill tells the agent to ground its advice in the latest official documentation and samples rather than in memory, since older knowledge can be out of date. It covers agents, workflows and migrations from the older frameworks. It is useful for developers building agents with the framework, and for teams moving from Semantic Kernel or AutoGen. Preview software may change its interfaces between releases, so the version in use should be pinned and the code tested after each upgrade. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 1.9K installs, with Gen Agent Trust Hub and Socket passing and Snyk showing a warning at the time of the scan.
