About next-dev-loop

next-dev-loop
Verify Next.js runtime behavior after editing app code
next-dev-loop is an agent skill from Vercel's Next.js repository, listed on skills.sh. It covers the edit and verify rhythm during next dev: make a change, then confirm it works at runtime, not only that the types or the build pass. Verification uses two views of the same running app. The first is the /_next/mcp endpoint that Next.js exposes about itself, which knows framework-specific things such as routes, segments, React Server Components, server actions, server logs and errors as Next.js saw them. The second is agent-browser, a command-line tool that drives a real Chrome and knows the framework-agnostic side: the DOM, console, network, React fibers and web vitals. The skill tells the agent to run agent-browser skills get core once for the version-matched usage guide before driving it, rather than guessing subcommands. The two views are used to cross-check each other. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.
