About noob-mode

noob-mode
Plain-English translation layer for non-technical Copilot CLI users
noob-mode is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that acts as a plain-English layer over Copilot CLI for people without a software background. It is written for lawyers, product managers, business stakeholders, designers and writers who use the command-line assistant but are not engineers. Once it is active, every permission request, error message and technical output is translated into clear, jargon-free language, so the person always knows what they are agreeing to, what just happened and what their options are. Each permission prompt explains what the tool wants to do, why, how risky it is, and what follows from yes or no, with color-coded risk levels. Technical terms are defined the first time they appear, multi-step tasks begin with a plain roadmap, and every completed task ends with a summary of what changed, what was created and how to undo it. It is useful for non-technical professionals who need to use the tool safely, because the translation makes permissions easier to judge. The translation is an aid, not a substitute for judgment: a person should still decide each permission, and should be careful about any step that changes files or accounts. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 6.4K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
