It then checks the candidate against the criteria for an effective North Star. The skill's domain notes are specific about what a North Star is not. It is not a set of many metrics, it is not a revenue or lifetime value figure because it must be customer-centric, it is not an OKR, and it is not a strategy, although choosing it is a strategic decision. A good North Star is a single customer-centric measure of the value customers get from the product. The skill is useful when setting up a metrics framework or deciding what a team should measure.
