About Oh My Posh Validator

Oh My Posh Validator
Validate oh-my-posh configurations
oh-my-posh validator is a Model Context Protocol server that checks oh-my-posh shell prompt configurations against the official schema. Oh-my-posh is the prompt theme engine, and this server lets an AI client validate a configuration before you use it. It is built as an Azure Function and exposes two tools. The validate_config tool checks a full configuration in JSON, YAML or TOML and returns detailed errors with JSON paths. The validate_segment tool checks a single segment snippet, which is useful for testing one piece of the prompt before adding it to a configuration. The result reports whether the configuration is valid, lists errors and warnings such as best-practice notes and deprecations, names the detected format, and returns the parsed configuration for debugging. The server answers GET requests with its information and available tools, and POST requests carry validation calls, and the documentation shows how to connect an MCP client and how to test locally. It is published to the MCP Registry through GitHub Actions. Its version follows oh-my-posh releases, so a new release tag updates the server version too. It is aimed at people who maintain oh-my-posh themes and want an assistant to catch mistakes in them.
